Releasing the Fear of Impending Doom
When life gets a little tumultuous, we can remain in peace.
We are living in tumultuous times. The world is changing, and sometimes we may feel like we are helpless to make things better. We may be glued to our televisions, watching all of the happenings in the world and wondering how it will all work out, or if it will at all.
If we are spiritual, we may look for hope or guidance from those who speak with Spirit. We may check out all of those who communicate from the world of spirit and see what they have to say. If they are predicting uncertain or tumultuous times, we may become fearful.
In my previous article sharing some themes that may show up for August, the numbers and the Tarot were speaking of shake-ups and maybe some unexpected happenings that create chaos for a time, but I did share that sometimes when new things are meant to come into our lives, the transition from the old to the new is often inconvenient at least, and perhaps a bit unsettling.
As someone who receives messages from the world of Spirit, I try not to listen too much to what other spiritual communicators have to say, so that when I receive messages, I am not influenced by what others are saying. However, since I do not do astrology, I have frequently liked to check in with various astrologers, mostly to see if what I was feeling was lining up with the planets and stars.
Recently, I was watching British astrologer Pam Gregory, and she predicted something similar as I did in my monthly energy prediction. Instead of using the analogy I did about the highway that was under construction, her analogy was very similar, but she used the example of a kitchen. She said that when you are remodeling your kitchen, you have to tear out the old one before installing the new one. It felt gratifying that she was seeing the same unsettling energy as I was, and that she chose a similar metaphor.
However, sometimes when we feel this unrest, we can become a bit fearful. We don’t know exactly what is going to happen, and how these shifts are going to affect us.
When I do personal readings with my clients, sometimes I see things that are not pleasant. I have a personal rule that I do not ever predict that someone is going to die, but I may see challenges, and I will share in some way that there may be some unpleasant experiences coming their way.
It is important to not get caught up in fear when these things happen. It is easy and perhaps part of human nature to expect the worst, but we can overcome this tendency!
Eckhart Tolle suggests that we stay focused on the present as much as possible, so that we are not missing most of our lives. When we are thinking too much about the past or the future, we miss the here and now. This does not mean that we not prepare ourselves for things that may occur in the future. If we lived completely in the here and now, we would not shop for groceries, put gas in our cars, or have things like retirement, savings, or life insurance. However, it is really important to prepare for the future with as much neutrality as possible, not projecting our emotions about possible future events into a version that have not yet happened.
As humans, we have a collective memory of tragedy and loss. We may not specifically know what we are fearing, but anxiety is rampant in our world today. Anxiety is a general fear or dread, without a specific target or reason for feeling that way. The world is uncertain, that is for sure. We are never guaranteed that we will wake up in the morning, or that people we love will always be okay. But living in fear of the possibility of harm or misfortune is no way to live.
If you find yourself aboard a (symbolic or literal) ship that is being tossed to and fro by the storms of life, know that sometimes the situation may be out of your control, but your reaction is something you can control.
Most of us are familiar with the story of Jesus and his disciples who were in a boat. Jesus’ disciples were fishermen, so they were familiar with weather patterns, but for some reason, they all found themselves out on the water when a storm unexpectedly began to toss their boat around on the water. The disciples feared for their life, and woke Jesus up, who calmly slept amidst the crashing waves and claps of thunder and lightening. When he woke up, he scolded his disciples for not handling the situation themselves.
Then he spoke to the winds and waves, commanding them to be still.
Immediately the storm ceased.
We tend to think of some things as beyond our control. And this is often true. Not all of us have the ability to speak to a storm and have it obey.
However, it is important to note that Jesus claimed we could do these things, and I have personally witnessed a number of times when weather patterns have shifted based on my or my father’s commands (my biological father, not the Father mentioned in the Bible).
I find that even though I no longer buy into a large portion of the teachings of Christianity, this is one I have retained, because I know that we are Divine Beings having a human experience, and I have seen words that I speak have the power to make the impossible possible.
When I give you prayers, such as the one I will give you to say in a minute, I am doing so with the knowledge that our words and our intentions do have power, and that we are capable of miraculous feats, as long as what we are doing causes no harm or is not in contradiction to our soul purpose or the soul purpose of someone else or the collective human experience.
As an energy healer, fear and anxiety is one of the most common emotions I find in my clients’ energy field. It is possible to release this out of your body and feel better!
I had a client recently who came for her second session. She had come to me months before and I had done some work on her energy field to release anxiety stuck in her body. Normally I can find out where it is lodged in the body and assist my clients in releasing it and healing its source. I rarely remember the details, which is also true in this case, but when she came for her second session, she excitedly reported that after our session, she has not felt anxious since. In conjunction with her doctors, she has been able to successfully wean herself off of her anxiety meds!
I call this a miracle!
For me personally, when I intuit some challenges, as I did for this month, it can create a bit of apprehension. When this was supported by a celebrated astrologer, I will admit that I was tempted to postpone my life a little, until whatever was about to occur had happened.
Since my personal numerology syncs with the collective theme I have talked about at length, I braced myself a bit.
As it turns out, some unexpected events did occur, which has created a shift for my husband and myself, but so far, these shifts are positive.
I wanted to suggest that if you are emotionally affected by world events, psychic or astrology predictions, or any other triggers, that perhaps it may be a good idea to take a break from the stimuli creating your anxiety, and shift to the understanding that in this moment, all is well.
I have personally decided to take a break from checking out astrologers for awhile. It is not because I do not believe in what they are doing. For me personally, I want to align with the energy of Divine Love and Joy, and be as clear as possible when receiving messages from the Spirit world. I don’t want anything I am sensing to be affected or influenced by anything that others are also saying.
I am also working on being more in the present, all the while sending Divine Love into an uncertain future.
You may want to say a prayer like the following:
“I lovingly release any anxiety or fear in regards to an unknown future, or the limiting belief that whenever things are good, something unknown will come and take it all away. I release any emotions that create fear or are empowered by fear, from any event in my past in this lifetime, any other lifetime or expression of my soul, and from any tendencies I may have inherited from my ancestors. I declare that I am safe and protected from harm as long as it is for my highest good and the highest good of all concerned.”
Take a break from negative feeds on social media, the news, or any outside stimuli that may be provoking unhealthy emotions! Try to keep your heart-space full of the energy of Divine Love and Peace.
Send Divine Love to all, including those who you do not agree with or have negative emotions about.
Try to stay as neutral as you can when faced with the choice to choose sides in an argument. Side with the side that feels like it is more aligned with love. Hate, fear and anger are never the answer.
Remember that we are all a family of humanity. Just like any family, we may not all get along or see things the same way, but we can choose to be civil to one another when we are thrown together.
I am not saying that you should refrain from engaging in supporting causes that you feel strongly about, as long as you do not demonize those who feel differently.
If you notice that certain activities elicit fear, work on eliminating those activities from your life. If certain relationships create fear, work on reducing or eliminating your time with those individuals or groups. Send them away with love, and not judgement.
We are all here navigating life as best we can.
We will make mistakes in judgement.
We will believe things that are not true.
We will sometimes say things we should not say and do things we regret.
When we realize our errors, hopefully we will do better.
Do your best to make amends if you need to, and love others as much as you can.
However, don’t expect others to do the same. That is none of your business.
I send love to all of you as together we navigate uncertain times.
