March Energy Forecast
What Numerology, Tarot, and Spirit Have to Say
I think we all knew that this year was going to be a game-changer, but I am not sure that we knew fully what to expect. Here we are moving into the third month of this year, and already there have been so many significant developments in our world. When we are in a “9” year in numerology, we are faced with the stark reality that something needs to go. Some 9 years seem to be more significant than others, but this particular one seems significant. Astrologers tell us that the US is experiencing its Pluto return, where Pluto finds itself in the same position it was when the version of the United States we know now was born. Pluto is the planet of death, rebirth, and transformation, which is not always easy. We are being given the opportunity to reinvent ourselves, and create an entirely new version of what we think of when we think of our country. We are early in the transformation, and I am sure there is much more to come.
February was not a month where there was a lot of forward momentum. We were called to go within ourselves and seek wisdom and understanding. The insight we gained, if we took time to listen, will usher us into the energy for March. We enter March with the energy of the number “3” in numerology. If we add the 9 for this year to the third month of the year, we arrive at 12, and if we add together the 1 and the 2, we arrive at 3. All of these numbers are significant.
The number 1 is the number of beginnings of some sort. In January, the first month, a new president was sworn in, who immediately began to change policies, shut down government offices, and flex his power muscles. In our personal lives, we were given an opportunity to start anew in some area of our lives. We often set New Years resolutions in January, but rarely follow through. In February, a 2 month, we may have experienced a slow down. In the world around us, there has been a theme of secrets, women’s issues, the unknown, and an awareness of how our actions and collective policies are affecting others. Now we enter into the energy of three, that of action, self-expression, creativity, movement, manifestation, and family. Social issues are likely to take center stage. Home and family will be a strong theme. The number three is a social number, but also can present as a number of indecision. I am expecting a lot of shifts in social awareness, the arts, self-expression and idealism.
Although I am not an astrologer, I pay attention to major influences, and in March, we have Venus and Mercury both retrograde. Venus is the planet that influences love, relationships, and money, and Mercury affects travel and communication in all its forms, including technology. March may offer us an opportunity to revisit old relationships or experiences that have left us wounded or have unsettled accounts of some sort.
In my down time, especially since it is winter and I have not been going outside as often, my husband and I have enjoyed watching some television shows. My husband is the master of finding really interesting things to watch. Recently, we watched two back-to-back episodes in series we enjoy where the theme seemed to be settling old unfinished business from the past, especially in relationships. In one of the shows, a doctor had a patient who had raped her five years before, but she had never reported it or even told anyone about it. In this episode, she had to address this wound she had hidden away, or allow it to ruin her career. It was a theme that sort of jumped out at me, as if to shout, “pay attention!” which is often the case when I get a download from Spirit. It seemed to reappear in subsequent shows we watched that evening, so that I would not miss the message. I am not sure if it has to do with these two particular planets and their retrogrades, but it seems fitting to mention it. If you have some past trauma or wounds or even unfinished business of some kind, you may have to settle it, if not this month, sometime this year for sure. This theme is particularly significant for me, since I am co-writing my second book with Jesus, after several years where I avoided any mention of him at all costs. I am sure the “real” astrologers will have much more insight about these planets, but I thought it relevant to messages Spirit has been sharing with me, so I included in this month’s energy forecast.
In the Tarot, we have the Empress and the Hanged Man, which are the cards associated with the number 3 and the number 12, respectively.
Following along with the energy of the number 3, The Empress is a card of home, family and sometimes pregnancy. The woman in this picture is taking it easy, so it is suggested you find things that feel good to you. Spruce up your home or yard. Here where I live it is the dead of winter, but sometimes in March it gets a little warmer, and we are able to do a little preparation for the spring and summer in the yard, but not always. The idea is, do some nesting. Spring cleaning, get outside if the weather allows, and spend some time with family, if you have the opportunity, or if it feels good to do so.
The Hanged Man is a card of self-sacrifice. You may find that you are giving to others who are in need, but you are feeling good about your service to others. Sometime this month, do something kind that does not benefit you personally. Give of yourself to others. Sometimes the Hanged Man represents giving up a personal convenience for a good cause. It could be as simple as giving up sweets to lose some extra weight, or it could be more humanitarian. Interestingly enough, both of my parents passed when they were in a personal 12 year. At first I wondered about that, as the number 12 rarely indicates death, but in a way, when one passes from Earth life to whatever is next, they are leaving behind the struggles of being human for the next adventure. The number 3, which is what you get when you add together the 1 and the 2, is a card of adventure. So I surmised that they were on to their next adventure. They had left behind their physical struggles and moved on to the next adventure, whatever that was.
Spiritually, over the next few months, we have an opportunity to birth something new. If we take the Empress and the Hanged Man as a joint message, we may find ourselves spiritually pregnant in some way in March. We may be leaving behind old ideas, an outdated sense of our identity or what we believe about ourselves and the cosmos. Things that we have held dear may lose their appeal. As we are shedding aspects of ourselves that no longer hold water, we have the hope and understanding that as we shed these outdated versions of ourselves and our understanding of life, our purpose, our place in the universe, and reality as we understand it, we may go through a period where we find it necessary to reinvent ourselves in some way. This is not an immediate process, as the cards for April will show you. The work you do in March to shed old outdated versions of yourself and reality will usher in how you experience the transformation that will ultimately present itself in April.
The other “minor” cards of the Tarot which represent the number 3 could indicate some other events that could occur this month.
Three of Swords: Yes, it is as bad as it looks. You may find yourself broken-hearted about something. In astrology, Venus, the planet of love and money, goes retrograde in March. Broken hearts are possible. Hopefully this possibility is short-lived. But healing from a broken heart takes as long as it takes. As we shed old concepts, sometimes we find ourselves a bit broken-hearted as we realize new truths and new realities. On a larger scale, many are feeling broken-hearted at the state of the world, various aspects of life that are being stripped away, and how all of this is affecting, not only us personally, but our family of humanity. A more minor experience of this card may be disappointment, disillusionment, or something you have looked forward to gets cancelled or postponed.
Three of Pentacles: This is the card of work, especially working with others on a project, or having a specific skill that is needed. Perhaps you need to hire a contractor to do some work around the house. Perhaps you have a skill that others find valuable. Perhaps you need to seek out someone with a greater understanding than you do and gain perspective, wisdom, or expertise.
Three of Cups: Celebration of some kind! Perhaps you go out with friends. Perhaps you find your tribe. Perhaps you receive good news. This is assuming you experience the upright version of this card. It seems sort of opposite to the Three of Swords, but most of the time, these cards represent more “minor” or “day-to-day life” issues. Take time to go out and have some fun. Be social.
Three of Wands: You may embark on an adventure of some kind. You may take a trip, start a new job, move your home, or have a spiritual experience. Sometimes this is the card of watching your ship come in, and can indicate financial windfalls. When I look at this card, it feels to me like this guy or gal is saying goodbye to something or someone, although this is not typically the meaning of this card. As I mentioned, we are being invited to say goodbye to previous versions of ourselves and our understanding of reality and the universe.
Remember that for you personally, your own birthday may have you in a bit of a different chapter than the one I am describing here. We are all on our own individual paths as we collectively are navigating this transformation and collective awakening. Not everyone has it in their contract to wake up. However, these themes will certainly affect you in some way!
