April is a Doozy of a Month

Let's chat about the energetic influences at play in April.

For those of you who have been reading my monthly energetic forecasts on my website, Whispers of Joy, I am doing this little experiment posting my blog here rather than directly on my website in order to possibly have more engagement. For those of you who are new, I have been writing a blog on various spiritual subjects and messages I regularly receive from my Angels and Guides for several years.

I use a combination of numerology, the cards of the Tarot, and inspiration directly from my Guides and Benevolent Spirit helpers when writing on possible themes and energies at play for the month. I am not an astrologer so you will have to obtain that information from someone else, but I do like astrology and encourage you to know at least a little about it.

Numerology is the study of numbers and their energetic significance. Each number has a theme and significance, and plays a part in the influence of its position or placement in our lives. We have house numbers, telephone numbers, license plate numbers, and numbers signify our month, day and year.

I see numerology and astrology, as well as other divinatory methods to be a sort of GPS for our souls. When we are born, I believe that we as an eternal soul has an overall plan for how our lives are going to go and the themes that we choose to have play out in our lives both as individuals and as an individuated expression of Divine Energy living out life in a human form. Since arriving in the earth plane is somewhat jolting to our souls, we often forget why we are here and anything that came outside of our earth body experience. The soul navigational systems that our particular culture believes in or at least tolerates in some form is what we as souls use to navigate our way through the ups and downs of living life in an earth body. If I lived in a different time period or even a different culture, I may see things differently based on the overall cultural and religious viewpoints of that society. Back in my extremely Christian upbringing, astrology and any form of divination were taboo, and our only way to expect or receive Divine Guidance was through our church, or perhaps our dreams. Even movies and secular music was forbidden, so my Guides used Bible stories to deliver messages to me. My very first book, which to this day remains unpublished and lost somewhere on a floppy disc in a landfill somewhere, I wrote about the various messages I received from the Spirit world based on Bible stories and fairy tales. When I finally realized that movies and music were not tools of the elusive devil, I also received a number of spirit-inspired messages from movies, songs on the radio, and other various things that would pop in and out of my day. I found an I-Ching book on a bargain book table at Books a Million. I learned to receive messages from rocks, cloud formations, and once, during a tour of the White House, Ronald Reagan jumped out of his picture on the wall and began chatting with me!

So the way any of us receive messages from the Divine is different for each of us!

I am only one person among thousands who post inspiration and divinatory messages and each of us has a little different perspective. Some of the information may be similar and some may be completely different. This does not mean that one person is right and another person is wrong. I believe that our own personal connection with the Divine knows who exactly we are going to interact with. The Divine sends each of us to deliver messages to the audience who seems to come across our own particular message.

One of the things that often happens to me when I am tuning in to receive guidance around the beginning of the year, I will see particular dates or possibly months on the calendar light up, signifying to me that this particular month has some significance.

This year, I could not seem to see much past June. I felt April, May, and possibly into June was hugely significant. It seemed until very recently, I could not even seem to plan any events past June. Even now, I have some general thoughts on what I want to do over the summer and into the fall, but they are all just very general and have not even merited a note on my calendar. It seems something is encouraging me to wait before making any big decisions or plans. It doesn’t necessarily feel scary, but very significant.

As I write this, we are just shy of the March 25the full moon lunar eclipse. This may very well be the hint of things to come.

In numerology, April is a 12/3 month. April is the fourth month of the year and if we add that to the year’s numbers we arrive at 12. The 1 and the 2 add up to 3. (4+2+0+2+4=12. 1+2=3)

Three is the number of expression, communication, manifestation, movement, creativity, and fun. These sound like good energies, right? On the down side, three is also the number of betrayal, restlessness, boredom, and conspiracy theories. Anything having to do with communication is emphasized, so the communication could be extremely beneficial, but is not necessarily so. If a large number of people believe a lie, they could be spurred to violence in response.

If 1 is the number of self, the individual, and 2 is the number of cooperation, community, nurturing, and commitment, then when you add the individual in tandem with the group, the combining of those energies could be either really positive or, on the flip side, not so much. When our self-expression and our communication is based on our connection to other people, it is really important to talk about positive things with people who share similar values and outlooks on life. Today a lot of our information comes through social media and the internet, and sometimes we are trusting people who we don’t even know to tell us what to think and believe. We are not always aware of their loyalties or motivations.

If you follow astrology, you will find that April is one of the most active months of the year astrologically. I am not going to get into a lot of that, since there are a lot of really good astrologers who do a better job than I could ever hope to. Suffice it to say that a lot of what they are saying matches what I have been feeling for several months now. April may very well set the stage for what comes the rest of the year. It is so important to focus on Divine Love and send it out to all the places in the world that grab your attention. Be the Light. Be the Love.

I will say that this huge shift I am sensing may be completely energetic, or it may be newsworthy. I have no idea what the specific details are of this energy I am sensing. I am aware that a large number of souls seem to be having spiritual awakenings, or feeling like they are suddenly aware of a side of reality they had never before considered. A number of my new clients are saying similar things. It is like one day my life was going along as usual and one day everything was different, as if I had woken from a dream.

For me, my Guides tend to tell me themes but not necessarily specifics. There is a huge spiritual awakening happening this year, but there is also a sort of shadow side to that. We know that when the sun comes out, the shadows also seem to appear. The Guides say that yes, all the things that hold us back from living our lives with purpose and joy will come up to be examined and we will be challenged to elevate our thinking.

Let’s now look at the Tarot cards associated with the numbers 12 and 3.

The twelfth card of the Tarot is the Hanged Man. This is a card of self-sacrifice. It is a card of doing something or behaving in a way that requires some surrender of personal comfort in order to achieve a greater good. This card is all about doing good things for a good reason but which may not be comfortable. The man has an obvious halo around his head, which indicates he is sacrificing himself for something that is bigger than he is. It is a bit similar to the idea of the crucifixion. It is believed that Jesus sacrificed himself for a greater good. The truth of the crucifixion is one that can be argued, but the symbolism is that of doing something good for a cause of some sort. I also associate this card with leaving behind something for something better. In a sense, this man is leaving behind any sort of life he had before this moment. His life is forever changed. He may be stuck in a situation that seems unfixable, but he seems oblivious to his own personal comfort.

The third card in the Tarot is the Empress. This card is all about home and family, and often predicts a pregnancy in divination. As we know, in our country there is a huge emphasis on changing laws in regards to a woman’s choices in regards to her family and pregnancy. This seems like a theme that may prove important in April. For you personally, your family may be a focus. Perhaps you are in a position to need to set aside your own personal comfort in order to be of service to some aspects of home and family.

We may find that we are faced with some choices in regards to our home and our families. There may be some difficult decisions we need to make. We may need to decide where our loyalties lie.

In the Tarot, there are also four minor “3” cards which indicate possible themes in our private or personal lives.

The three of swords hints at some sort of heartbreak, while the three of cups is foretelling a social gathering where celebration is the theme. These cards are almost opposite in many ways, but we may find ourselves experiencing varying aspects of both situations. Often heartbreaking things happen when we are gathering together with friends. The three of wands indicate a trip of some kind. We may be embarking upon an adventure of some kind. This is also traditionally known as the card of your ship coming in, so it often indicates a financial windfall. The three of pentacles is the card of work and career, and specifically indicates working with others or being recognized for your expertise in some areas. Sometimes it is about teaching a skill to others.

Whatever April brings both collectively and personally, we can be sure that our lives will be changed. The full understanding of the significance of the happenings of April may not be apparent until later. As I mentioned, when tuning in around the beginning of the year, it felt that April and May and possibly into the first part of June were significant. Was I receiving a message about me personally or the collective? Only time will tell. Maybe both.

I often find that sometimes I am assuming the Guides are giving me a personal message and it turns out I am receiving a message for someone else or for the collective. I share this because life as we know it is changing. I do personally feel a huge shift. The spirits are very real and tangible. I have been feeling an uptick in their attempts to communicate with us and to let us know they are here and they are supporting us through these changes.

What exactly our lives will look like after this huge shift is complete is not clear, but the Guides assure me that it will be okay.

Issues which you have avoided or tried to sweep under the rug will no longer remain in the shadows. It is time to face your shadow and own all of the parts of yourself.

Collectively we must own that as a human race we have not always done things the right way and now we are faced with some choices. Do we make the same mistakes again or do we do things better this time? Do we allow ourselves to be tossed about by the waves of collective unrest or do we stand and say “Peace. Be still.”
